Basmati Rice (Oryza sativa)
Open pan - boil 6-8 cups of water, add 1 cup (200g) of rice and stir occasionally. Cook uncovered on medium heat for 7-8 min. Drain excess water from the pan. Fluff with a fork and serve.
Pressure cooker - boil 1 and half cups (375 ml) of water, add 1 cup (200g) of rice and stir occasionally. Cover the pan with tight lid and allow to cook for 8-10 min. Remove the pan from heat and let it cool for 5-10 min. Fluff with a fork and serve.
Microwave - place pre-soaked rice (one cup (200g) soaked in 1 and half cup of water (375 ml) loosely in a microwaveable bowl. Cover the cling film. Cook as recommended. Remove the bowl from the oven and let it stand for 5-10 min. Fluff with a fork and serve.
